Very rich and thought-provoking post. It brought to mind the saying, "the road to Hell is paved with good intentions." It is good to be reminded that intention and action go hand-in-hand when it comes to our karma. Also good to dispel the notion that life suddenly becomes rosy once we begin living by spiritual principles. It's really more about how we deal with life situations than it is about which particular life situations we're dealt. Life does get more difficult when we begin the path that leads away from personal attachments and comforts...but there is a critical point at which we arrive "over the hump," and the benefits of non-attachment begin to make themselves evident. It almost seems paradoxical how we thus find freedom through self-limitation.
